JON HAMM PROMINENCE

An AMC insider said Hamm was instructed to wear underwear while filming certain scenes of Mad Men, due to the era’s tight-fitting clothing.

“The tv show takes place in the 1960s, where the pants are very tight and leave little to the imagination,” said the source. “Jon’s impressive anatomy is so distracting that they politely insisted on underwear.”

The show’s marketing team had to Photoshop many of the billboards, promotional posters and ad campaigns relating to the show due to his prominent appearance.

“Imagine how distracting that would be on the side of a bus or building,” the unnamed insider said. “When the promotional pictures came back the first few seasons, we had to work with them. Everyone was concerned about too much Christina Hendricks boob, but it’s Jon that has the most to show.”

Hamm’s rep disagrees that his anatomical excess is a “good problem,” saying, “It is ridiculous and not really funny at all. I’d appreciate you taking the high road and not resorting to something childish like this that’s been blogged about 1,000 times.”

It’s clear the actor doesn’t mind showcasing what Mother Nature gave him. In September of last year, Hamm and longtime girlfriend Jennifer Westfeldt went on a shopping trip to Barneys, and when paparazzi snapped a photo of the pair, it became clear who the real star of the snapshot was. (Yes, his penis.)

The world may never know for certain if that’s really Jon Hamm’s penis. There are compelling arguments to be made for and against the deployment of Photoshop to make it so … impressive.
